Jocelin Harris

Jocelin Harris qualified as a solicitor. He is an active investor in a large number of private companies in a wide variety of sectors and has been a director of Unipower since 1998.

After qualifying and a brief period with Esso Petroleum he joined the corporate finance department of Rea Brothers Plc and became a director of the bank in 1979. In 1986 he moved to Durrington Corporation which provides finance for start up and early stage businesses. He was chairman of Independent British Healthcare Plc, a non executive director of Hansa Trust Plc and is currently a non executive director of Unicorn Aim Plc. He is also on the boards of a number of private companies in the UK and the USA in which he is an investor.

Jocelin is a liveryman of the Drapers Company, vice chairman of the Council of Queen Mary College University of London and a trustee of The St Peter’s College Foundation.

Les Halpin

Les Halpin began his career working for Barclays Bank, British Gas and Lloyds Bank International. He then joined Record plc, a specialist currency management company.  During his employment with the company, Les served in numerous capacities within the organisation culminating in his appointment as Chief Executive.

Les was involved in the management buy-out of Integrity Treasury Solutions in 1996 and subsequently worked with Charles Cooke-Hurle at the company prior to its sale to SunGard. He spent a number of years in Chicago focusing on sales and marketing for the business in the Americas.

Les remained a non-executive director of Record plc until its floatation on the LSE in 2007, and has been an active investor in a number of private companies including RDF Media plc which was floated on AIM in 2005. Les originally gained a degree in statistics which he then followed with an MBA in Finance.

Charles Cooke-Hurle

Charles Cooke-Hurle joined Unipower in March 2005 and is a non executive member of the board and an investor in the company. After gaining retail experience with Burtons, now part of Arcadia, he has spent the last 25 years in technology companies, mainly involved in software development. He was a director/shareholder of Taxsoft and Integrity Treasury Solutions, both leading software companies in taxation and treasury management solutions. At Taxsoft he was responsible for the rapid commercial growth of the company into a position of market leadership. He was CEO of Integrity, a global treasury management software supplier for 2 years prior to its acquisition in March 2005 by SunGard, a US Fortune 500 company.

Charles is a Chartered Accountant and has worked both in the UK and overseas. He is also Chairman of a leading UK software distributor and was a director of Fairshares, a leading investment portfolio management program.

John Camp

John joined Unipower in July 2006 as Managing Director. He has a commercial background in retail and banking followed by 15 years senior executive experience in the IT sector.

He began his career working for Budgens and then moved onto Abbey National where in the late 1980s he managed a team of 160 responsible for an investment and loan portfolio of over £300 million. John also managed Abbey’s extensive network of offices in Germany.

In 1991 John joined Taxsoft, a leading tax software provider and as a Director helped transform the business into one that was acquired by a FTSE 100 company, at a substantial premium to net worth.

John then spent four years with Sage PLC in a number of different roles including Acting General Manager of three IT companies acquired by Sage.

Apart from his business interests John from time to time has also been a tutor for the Careers Research Advisory Centre which helps students bridge the gap between education and employment. Making businesses of all sizes realise their potential is John’s passion.

Scott Vipond

Scott Vipond is Unipower's Finance Director and Company Secretary. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. Scott joined Unipower in 1999 and oversees the finance and HR functions of the company. Furthermore he is also responsible for building strategic partnerships with other IT companies and is the Microsoft Partner liaison officer.

Following his degree at Sheffield University, he gained an audit and accountancy background from several years in practice at Barber Harrison & Platt before moving into industry as a Finance Manager for Jay's Refractory Specialists, a refractory distribution company based in South Yorkshire. Seeking fresh opportunities, he moved to Hertfordshire to establish himself in the technology sector with Unipower.

His interests outside of work include squash, golf and travel and he is also the Treasurer of the TFM Investment Club.

After completing the London Marathon in 4 hrs 56 mins this year, he is keen to improve his time in 2009!
